User Experience Designer

DataXu is looking for a talented User Experience Designer to join a dynamic team of experienced professionals. We need a highly-motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic person who is passionate about creating compelling products that meet the needs of the customer. The ideal candidate can balance high-level, user-centric objectives, with detailed and carefully considered designs. Candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-pace environment that emphasizes collaboration and respect.

Responsibilities:

 Participate in the requirements definition process with Product Management, Engineering, and other key stakeholders

 Drive the clarification of user tasks and objectives

 Understand complex technical concepts and capabilities and create intuitive interfaces to make them accessible and self-evident to an end user

 Develop user interface design concepts and wireframes, hi-fidelity mock-ups, usage scenarios, specifications, navigation maps, style guidelines, and other UI design documents

 Present UI designs to the product team and management for review and feedback

 Develop and maintain detailed style guide and user-interface specifications

 Work with engineering counter-parts as needed to clarify requirements and solve design challenges

 By working with the team throughout the development cycle, ensure final product meets design specifications and established standards

Requirements

5+ years’ experience as a user experience and interface designer for non-technical audiences; consumer product experience is a bonus

 Portfolio or samples of work demonstrating great user-centered design solutions

 Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver

 Experience planning and executing usability testing, synthesizing results, and incorporating feedback

 The ability to develop quick prototypes in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Flash or Flex

 A solid understanding of how to create compelling UI designs that are technically feasible to implement

 Strong attention to detail and consistency

 The ability to scope design initiatives accurately and prioritize work items appropriately

 Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
