At DataXu, the sales engineer is a critical member of the sales team presenting the DataXu solutions and acting as the face of the company. Sales Engineers have the unique opportunity to apply their technical knowledge and industry expertise to help customers solve their business and technical challenges. The role is integral to success, including creating/developing solutions, explaining the return on investment (ROI) of the solution and ensuring customer success after the sale. The DataXu sales engineer role presents unique and new experiences every day and requires someone who is creative, motivated by challenges and willing to work hard.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the customer’s business, challenges and requirements including expert knowledge of the customers’ marketing ecosystem
Deliver pre-sales technical presentations, product demonstrations, and architecture sessions to clients and prospects
Propose, design, create and present custom prototypes, demos and proofs-of-concept based on client’s business challenges
Support Sales RFI/RFP process, providing responses to technical inquiries
Partner with Sales to pitch and close new opportunities
Lead the creation of customers’ technical project plans and drive internal execution including providing technical consulting and expertise
Help ensure effective utilization of appropriate DataXu resources to progress all issues impacting revenue, new business and customer satisfaction
5+ years sales engineering, solution architecture, or management consulting experience selling commercial enterprise software platforms
Industry experience in Media, CPG, Financial Services, Retail
Strong knowledge of relational databases
Experience coding in Java, Ruby or Python
Strong presentation skills and public speaking
Knowledge of map reduce and other "big data" technologies a plus
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related major. MS degree is a plus.
