About Wildfire Interactive:
Wildfire is a social media marketing software company positioned squarely on top of the social media revolution. We provide an all-in-one social marketing solution for large brands, small businesses and agencies looking to grow, engage and monetize their audiences across social channels. Wildfire is the industry’s de facto innovator for achieving results: our platform has powered more than 200,000 social promotions, and helped thousands of brands manage content and streamline their communications across the social web. No company knows better how to get Likes, fans, and followers, and drive sales. We work with 27 of the World’s Top 50 brands, and count among our clients companies like Pepsi, Virgin Atlantic, Nestle and Microsoft.
Headquartered in Redwood City, California, Wildfire has offices around the globe: in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, London, Paris, Munich and Singapore. We’ve grown our team from 5 to more than 250 (the largest team in our industry), in just over two years. We are a 2x winner of Facebook’s fbFund, a TechCrunch Crunchies Award nominee, and were named one of the Top 10 Best Places to Work by the San Francisco Business Times.
We are looking for truly talented Ruby developers with a passion for clean code and great products. Our current technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, Resque and a variety of standalone ruby components and applications.
We're also using some NoSQL solutions; we use Redis extensively. We use Cassandra for large data volume denormalized and extensible data sets, and Mongo for dynamic documents. We select new technologies based on use cases and re-evaluate our choices regularly. This list gets longer as our problems change, so you'll need to be excited about learning and applying new solutions.
We work with the Twitter and Facebook APIs every day, so experience with OAuth or external APIs of any kind is a major plus. We also use Git - you don't need to be a ninja (you can learn from our resident expert) but you should be familiar with it.
We care about quality, both in code and in our process. We follow SCRUM and have a strong scrummaster team. Writing unit tests using modern framework like Shoulda, RSpec, or Cucumber should be second nature to you, and you should be comfortable performing and receiving code reviews.
We are working on an exciting mix of improving and scaling our highly successful existing apps, as well as developing entirely new apps, and taking our architecture to the next level.
Our team is fast, smart and independent. Many of our developers are regular Open Source contributors, and we encourage Open Source contributions and community participation. It's a fun team to work with based in the heart of London, in Covent Garden. You can check out the team here: http://github.com/wildfireapp
