What is JobScore?
JobScore is a cooperative recruitment network. We provide web-based software that employers use to build their own pipeline, privately share resumes, and contact candidates we recommend from a shared resume pool.
Is JobScore an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)?
Not really. You can use JobScore as your applicant tracking system, but our focus is on helping you source great candidates and cooperative recruiting - not applicant tracking. We don't have many of the features that HR wants in an ATS: approvals, permissions, process management, on-boarding and compliance. We've designed JobScore as lightweight sourcing system - so you can focus on finding and hiring great people. Some companies, for example, use JobScore to source candidates and then export their resumes into a separate HR / tracking system.
If I already have an applicant tracking system (ATS), can I still use JobScore?
Yes. There are two ways to use JobScore if you already have an ATS:
1. You can run your sourcing through JobScore, export the resumes out of JobScore and then import them into your ATS.
2. You can use JobScore more like a resume database - adding your jobs and only using JobScore to contact recommended candidates from the JobScore Network.
If you want to see your favorite ATS integrated with JobScore (to make it easier to send candidates and jobs back and forth between your ATS & JobScore), please ask your ATS vendor to contact us about building an integration.
Is the JobScore Network a resume database?
Yes and No. JobScore is a resume database because we store and sell candidate information, but the similarities to other resume databases end there.
- You can't search through all of the resumes in JobScore. We keep candidate information private unless there is a two-way match between the job you are trying to fill and what the candidate is looking for.
- When there's a match, JobScore recommends the candidate by showing an anonymized version of their information (no name and contact information, no resume).
- If you like a candidate's anonymous profile, you can use a credit to contact them and we notify the candidate that you've accessed their information for a specific job.
- Hence, we don't charge all-you-can-eat subscription pricing -- you contact candidates one-by-one using credits.
So, we think of JobScore as more of a resume recommendation service than a resume database.
Are JobScore candidates unique from those in job board resume databases?
Yes. Employers share information they collect from job board respondents, but also from employee referrals, website visitors, and other candidates they invite - some of whom are not in job board resume databases. The JobScore Network also has resumes from people who like our approach to information privacy and add their information directly into the Network from our website.
Before building JobScore, we asked Job Seekers about other resume databases, and designed our system based on their feedback. We offer a better experience by collecting job preference information and offering candidates more stringent privacy controls. People who aren't actively looking for a job are more comfortable listing their information with JobScore -- because they know their information will only be shared for appropriate jobs match their stated preferences.
How do you attract candidates to the JobScore Network?
Most candidates in the JobScore Network come from employers who share resumes. Some candidates add their resumes to the JobScore Network by visiting our website.
How do I work with third party recruiters (agencies) if I use JobScore?
For now, just keep doing what you are doing:
- Add the agencies you work with to your list of search firms.
- Ask agencies to keep emailing you resumes directly.
- Add these candidates to JobScore yourself using the Add Candidate page, and set the source as "search firm..
We strongly recommend that you:
- DO NOT have agencies submit candidates through your careers site -- this will create problems for you, the agency and the candidate.
- DO NOT invite the candidates that agencies send to you -- sharing those resumes may violate the terms of your recruiting agreements.
Eventually we'll build an interface where approved agencies can submit resumes directly to your account, and those resumes will *never* be shared independent of which plan you are on. If you have ideas about how you want to work with agencies through JobScore, please add these suggestions to the JobScore Forums.
Will you share the resumes that agencies send to me?
No, we won't.
However, if an agency violates our job seeker agreement, and sends you resumes through your careers site, those resumes are shared - just like candidates from other sources. This creates problems for you, the candidate and the agency. We strongly recommend that you ask your agencies to send you resumes directly by e-mail, not through your careers site, and that you don't invite these candidates to join the JobScore Network.
