Help/FAQs: Resume Sharing

How does resume sharing work?

Resume sharing is voluntary. If you are on a JobScore SUBSCRIBE plan you cannot share resumes. If you are on a JobScore SHARE plan, you can share resumes, but must first secure the candidate’s permission to share it. Sharing is voluntary.  When you have permission, resumes are shared based on a few different rules:

  • Whenever you decline a candidate, their resume is shared.
  • If you ignore a candidate for five days, leaving them in the “new” status, they are shared.
  • If you mark a candidate as "active" they are not shared. (this means that if you don't want to share a specific candidate's resume, all you have to do is mark them as active)

Each time you share a resume that is not already in the JobScore Network you will be awarded 1 credit.

What if I don’t want to share resumes but I still want to use JobScore?

No problem.  If you are on the JobScore SHARE plan and don’t want to share a specific resume just set the candidate’s status to "active" and they won’t be shared. If you never want to share resumes but still want to use JobScore, please sign up for one of our JobScore SUBSCRIBE plans. Details on subscribe plans can be found here.

Do I have to share resumes to use JobScore?

No.  Sharing is voluntary. Please see "How does resume sharing work?" above for more details

What's the difference between sharing a resume and inviting a candidate?

You invite candidates to secure permission to share their resume. Here's how it works:

  • You can only share a candidate's resume if you have their permission.
  • If you find a candidate on your own and add them to your JobScore account, you haven't gotten permission to share their resume.
  • After you add the candidate you'll need to invite them to get permission to share their resume. If they respond to your invitation and give you permission, then you can share their resume.

Why would I invite a candidate to join JobScore?

  • Inviting a candidate to join JobScore is kind of like connecting to them on a social network like LinkedIn, except that it's a connection between your company and the candidate, not you and the candidate.
  • When a candidate accepts your invitation, you are going to be able to access any updates to they make to their resume in JobScore and you'll be notified if they are a good match for any of your open positions.
  • Also if a candidate responds to your invitation and gives you permission to do so, you can share their resume and earn a credit.

Why can I only share the resumes of candidates that respond to invitations?

Simply: you have to have someone's permission to share their resume. This is because we recommend shared resumes for open positions at other JobScore employers, and we don't want to be recommending anyone who doesn't know what we are up to!

Can my friends and I share resumes with each other using JobScore?

Yes, but not directly. You can share resumes with every other employer that uses JobScore (including each other) but not only amongst yourselves.

If you and your friends all sign up for the JobScore SHARE plan, JobScore automatically recommends your shared candidates for matching jobs at other employers. Your friend's resumes might be among your recommended candidates, but that depends on the candidate's job preferences and your scoring criteria. When we make recommendations, we don't show who shared each resume nor which specific jobs the candidate applied for - that information is kept private.

What do I get for sharing resumes?

If you sign up for the JobScore SHARE plan, you are awarded 1 credit for each candidate you share... provided the candidate is not already in the JobScore Network. Basically, you are only awarded credits for contributing new candidates. Awarded credits are only good for 90 days - so use them fast!

Isn't it a privacy violation to share someone's resume?

Not with JobScore. For a resume to be shared through JobScore both you and the candidate have to give permission, and candidates can turn their profile on or off at any time. Please consult our privacy policy for more details.
